    In a saucepan, boil 2 cups of water and stir in 2 cups of granulated sugar until completely dissolved.

    Add 4 cups of rinsed and cleaned florets, cover the saucepan with a lid, reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.

    Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the florets to steep for about 8 hours.
