Edible Cookie Dough

Share

This Edible Cookie Dough is made without eggs and uses heat-treated flour, making it absolutely safe to eat straight from the bowl. Sweet and creamy, this comforting treat instantly brings back memories of childhood.

This recipe is incredibly simple to make. First, you need to heat-treat the flour before you begin any mixing. To do this, spread 1 cup flour on a rimmed baking sheet. I recommend lining your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy transport. Bake in a preheated 350 °F oven for 7 minutes or until the temperature registers 165 °F on an instant-read thermometer. Cool completely and sift before preparing the cookie dough. Once done, whip together the softened butter, sugar, and salt until fluffy. Next, mix in the milk and vanilla extract. Add in the toasted flour and blend until just combined. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips. Enjoy right away or store in the fridge for up to one week.

2

Add milk and vanilla

2

Mix in 1 ½ tablespoons milk and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract.

3

Add flour

3

Add in 1 cup heat-treated flour and blend until just combined, while adding milk ½ tablespoon at a time to thin the mixture if needed.

4

Fold in chocolate chips

2

Use a spatula to fold in ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.

5

Serve

Serve right away! Store the edible cookie dough in the refrigerator. Note: Once chilled, the dough will harden up because of the butter content. Let it come to room temperature if desired.
