So, how to make Chocolate Pear Cake?

Steps to make Chocolate Pear Cake

1

Preheat oven and prepare baking

10

Preheat the oven to 350 °F and grease 9×9-inch square pan or line 9-inch round springform pan with a round piece of baking parchment paper.

2

Combine dry ingredients

5

In a medium bowl, sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt and mix to combine.

3

Melt butter and dark chocolate

5

In a separate, small bowl or saucepan, melt the butter and dark chocolate in the microwave, or one a stove top over low heat. Stir well to not solidify.

4

Add sugar

5

Transfer the melted butter and chocolate to a larger mixing bowl and add granulated sugar. Using an electric mixer, beat ingredients on medium-high speed for a few minutes until light in color.

5

Add eggs and vanilla extract

5

With the motor still running, add the eggs and vanilla extract. Beat to combine.

6

Add flour and milk

5

Add dry ingredients and milk, alternating between the two to bring the mixture to a chocolate batter.

7

Prepare cake

5

You may also fold pears into the batter before pouring into the pan, if you wish; or pour cake batter into prepared baking pan and top with chopped pears.

8

Bake

45

Bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the cake has a slight bounce, when touched.

9

Cool

30

Cool on a wire rack for 15-30 minutes. If using a springform pan, release the cake when completely cooled, only.

10

Serve

Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
