One of my favorite seasonal activities is to make these Cherry Cheesecake Dessert Jars with the kids. We don’t even need real cherries to feel the festivities and on the odd occasion that I have a family dinner party, these are a lovely, fresh summer dessert to serve.
Layers of buttery crushed graham crackers with creamy vanilla cheesecake and a cherry pie filling from a can, prepared in mason jars and chilled in the fridge. Each spoonful is so tasty and delicious, I think you’re going to love making and eating these too!
To make Cherry Cheesecake Dessert Jar, you will need the following ingredients:
In a small bowl, mix 1¼ cups of graham cracker crumbs, ¼ cup of butter, and ¼ cup of sugar until combined and coated in butter.
In a mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to combine 8 oz of plain cream cheese, 1 cup of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of heavy cream until smooth and fluffy.
In 6 mason jars, divide the buttery graham crackers as the base layer then top each one with the cream mixture, divided evenly.
Refrigerate for 3-4 hours, to chill.
Once chilled, add the final layer of cherry pie from 1 can, divided evenly, to top.
Enjoy immediately or chill in the fridge for a little longer.
I made the Cherry Cheesecake Dessert Jars for my wife’s birthday. With the kids helping, we had a blast! The recipe was simple and the layers looked beautiful. Everyone at the dinner loved them, and I felt proud showing off our creation. Can't wait to make them again next summer!
Perfect for summer dinners with kids. So fun!
