Start by making a cake batter and adding coffee and walnuts. Bake in the oven. When the cake is cooked, leave to cool on a wire rack. As the cake cools, make a frosting by combining coffee or espresso with butter, cream cheese, and confectioners sugar. Steps to make Coffee-Walnut Snack Cake

Heat oven and prepare pan

Preheat the oven to 350 °F. Lightly grease and flour an 8-inch round pan.

Chop walnuts

Finely chop ½ cup of the walnuts using a food processor or chopper and set aside.

Mix dry ingredients

Combine 1½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder and ¼ teaspoon of salt together in a bowl and mix until fully incorporated.

Combine butter and sugar

Beat 1 stick of butter and 1 cup of sugar together using an electric mixer until they are light and fluffy for 2-3 minutes.

Add eggs

Beat in two large eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Combine milk and coffee

Mix ⅓ of cup milk with 3 tablespoons of espresso or coffee.

Alternate adding coffee mixture and dry ingredients

Turn the mixer to low speed. Gradually add the flour mixture into the creamed mixture, alternating with the coffee mixture. Blend well.

Add walnuts

Fold in the finely chopped walnuts.

Transfer batter to the baking pan

Spread the cake batter in the cake pan.

Chop the remaining ¼ cup of walnuts coarsely.
