2 Shallots chopped finely
1 tbsp Parsley minced
½ Red bell pepper diced finely
½ Green bell pepper diced finely
1 Tomatoes diced finely
11 oz Ground beef
1 tsp Tomato paste
2 tbsp Pine nuts
1½ oz Pomegranate Arils
1 tbsp Olive oil
Salt to taste
Black pepper freshly ground, to taste
1 tbsp Ground coriander
1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
½ tbsp Cumin
For the dough
All-purpose flour
1 tsp Salt
1½ fl oz Sunflower oil
7 fl oz Milk warmed
¼ tsp Active dry yeast

    Start by combining all savory ingredients to make the dumpling filling. Prepare a pastry dough using flour, salt, oil, milk and yeast. No kneading required! Take little pieces of the pastry at a time and roll them into oval shapes. Place a spoonful of filling on each pastry oval and fold the sides to create a little boat. Bake in the oven and serve warm. Yum!

    Steps to make Middle Eastern Dumplings Stuffed with Meat

    Heat oven

    Preheat the oven to 350 °F.

    Make dough

    Mix 12 ounces of flour with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1½ fluid ounces of sunflower oil. Mix 7 fluid ounces of warm milk and ¼ tsp of active dry yeast and add to the flour. Combine all ingredients to make a dough. Let rest covered for a few minutes.

    Make filling

    Place 2 finely chopped shallots, 1 tablespoon of parsley, ½ a red bell pepper, ½ a green bell pepper, 1 tomato, 11 ounces of ground beef, 1 teaspoon of tomato paste, 2 tablespoons of pine nuts, 1 tablespoon each of olive oil, coriander, paprika, ½ a tablespoon of cumin and salt & pepper to taste in a bowl. Mix well with your hands.

    Roll out dough

    Take small pieces of the dough at a time and use a rolling pin to roll them out into an oval shape on a lightly floured work surface.

    Spoon one tablespoon of filling onto the center of each piece of dough.

    Shape the dumplings

    Fold the sides of each dough piece together and press the ends together firmly using your fingers. The finished dumpling should resemble a little boat.

    Repeat the process until all the dough and filling is used. Place shaped dumplings on lined with parchment paper baking sheets.

    Bake the dumplings in the preheated oven for approximately 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.
