This Gooseberry Apple Crumble is hands down one of my favorite summer desserts. It brings back childhood memories of visiting my grandma who always had gooseberry bushes in her garden.
To make this crumble, start by breaking down the apples and gooseberries with some of the caster sugar. When the fruit has broken down and become soft, place it in an ovenproof dish. Make crumble topping by rubbing together flour and butter until it resembles breadcrumbs and add the remaining caster sugar. Place the crumble on top of the fruit mixture and sprinkle with sugar. Bake until golden and bubbling.
