If you haven’t jumped on the Melon Seed Milk train yet, you are in for a treat. Don’t let those little precious melon seeds go to waste and turn them into a light and refreshing drink instead! Fruity and flavorful, it is made with just two ingredients: melon seeds and water. Melon seeds pack a bounty of health benefits, making this refreshing beverage both delicious and super good for you. As simple as it gets.
I made it for an alfresco dinner party, and it was almost too easy: a mixture of melon seeds and water blended until almost smooth, strained, and served in a glass over ice. A little agave syrup, cane sugar, or honey might have been in there, too. But this melon drink is pretty perfect at its simplest. Enjoy!
To make the Melon Seed Milk, you will need the following ingredients:
Cut the melon in half.
Scoop the seeds into a blender.
Add in 2 cups of water and a few chunks of melon (optional).
Whizz on high speed for 1 minute.
Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag into a pitcher. Press on the solids or squeeze the nut milk bag to get all the liquid out. Discard the pulp.
Serve over ice. Enjoy!
