4 tbsp Olive oil extra-virgin
3 tbsp Parsley leaves, chopped, divided
2 cloves Garlic finely chopped
1 Red chili deseeded and finely chopped
1/2 inch Fresh ginger peeled and finely chopped
15 oz Tomato passata
2 ( 6-oz) cans Canned tuna in olive oil, drained and flaked
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
12 oz Linguine

Inspired by the classic Italian pasta dish, this Pasta with Tuna Sauce recipe is a real weeknight winner. Fast and easy to make, it calls for pantry staples you might already have on hand. Think canned tuna, extra-virgin olive oil, tomato passata, and pasta. And just a few fresh ingredients – chili, garlic and ginger. Did I mention it takes less than 30 minutes to put together? Heat oil in a medium skillet. Add the parsley, garlic, chili, and ginger. Cook, stirring, until slightly soft. Add in the tomato passata and cook for a few minutes. Then add the tuna and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Simmer for 8 minutes. That’s your sauce. Set some linguine to boil in salted water. Drain the pasta and toss it with the sauce. Serve piping hot with a sprinkle of parsley. Enjoy!

Steps to make Pasta with Tuna Sauce


Prepare sauce


In a medium skillet, heat 4 tablespoons olive oil and add 2 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves, 2 finely chopped garlic cloves, 1 finely chopped red chili, and finely chopped ginger. Cook, stirring, until slightly soft, about 2 minutes.


Add passata


Add in 15 ounces tomato passata and stir to combine. Cook for 2 minutes.


Add tuna


Add in 2 cans of drained and flaked tuna and add salt and black pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer for 8 minutes.


Cook pasta


In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook 12 ounces linguine pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and return to the pot.


Combine pasta and tuna sauce


Add the tuna sauce to the cooked pasta and toss well.



Divide the pasta between plates. Top with fresh parsley. Serve and enjoy!
