Easy Chana Masala
This Easy Chana Masala is my take on the Indian garbanzo bean curry found at street food carts, work and school canteens, as well as weddings and family gatherings throughout India and Pakistan. Legumes such as garbanzo beans are a staple food group if you want to have a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet. They are full of important nutrients and general health benefits!
Start by sautéing onion, garlic, ginger and jalapeno pepper if using. Add a blend of garam masala, ground coriander, ground cumin and salt and cook for a minute. Stir in tomatoes and garbanzo beans and cook for 12-15 minutes until the flavors are combined. Serve with brown rice and cilantro. You can drizzle plain yogurt (or a vegan equivalent) over the top if you desire.
To make this Easy Chana Masala, you will need the following ingredients:

Very simple to make this thanks to the amazing instructions that come with pictures, most places don't bother to show you but you guys put in the effort and thanks to that my meal turned out great.
Took the leftovers to my families house so they could see what an amazing cook I am, lol. Long story short I'm cooking for them next weekend!
Chana masala is one of my favorite dishes but I never knew how people made it so good and thanks to you now I know! Was amazing very pleased.
Was not a fan of the whole vegetarian aspect of the meal so I did add some chicken to mine and it was a lot tastier.
Good, easy and tasteful, enjoyed it thanks a lot really good masala recipe.
Vegetarian dinners are hard to come accross because most of them aren't tasty at ALL but this one was super yummy and I can stick to my diet :)
Really happy with the outcome, delicious meal going to make this again.
First time making this and the sourcream was a really good touch, blends perfectly with the rest of the flavors.
Loved everything about this chana masala, made this and some cheesy garlic bread, was wonderful.
I used white rice instead and added some meat to mine because I'm a huge fan of ground beef and just had to try it with this.
Tonights dinner turned out good, the kids loved it and so did I, making this every week from now on since it takes less than an hour.
Going to try again with this recipe but in all honesty I prefer the red lentil and spinach one instead.
The beans came out really plain but the sauce saved it so it was still alright.
In love with this!! Very yummy and simple to cook.
Well done! Thanks for sharing recipe!
