2 tbsp Olive oil divided
1 lb Ground turkey beef 93% lean 7% fat
1½ cups Sweet onions finely diced
1 cup Carrots shredded
½ tsp Ginger minced
3 Garlic clove crushed
¼ cup Chicken broth
5 cups Cabbage cut into ¼-inch shreds
2 tbsp gluten-free Soy sauce or coconut aminos, tamari
2 tsp Apple cider vinegar or rice wine vinegar
½ tsp Salt to taste
¼ tsp Black pepper to taste
1 tsp toasted Sesame oil
1 tbsp toasted Sesame seeds optional
1 tbsp Green onion optional

Keto Egg Roll in a Bowl


One of my favorite treats to get as take out is egg rolls, except they are not the healthiest option and that’s why I love this Egg Roll in a Bowl recipe. Not only is this recipe full of flavor, it is gluten-free, dairy-free and keto-friendly too. Better yet, this healthy and low-carb meal will be ready in under 30 minutes, making it a perfect midweek meal!

Start by sauteing turkey, carrots, garlic, and ginger in a pan. Add chicken broth and cabbage. Add some soy sauce, cabbage and vinegar. Place a lid on the pan and cook for a bit. Before serving, drizzle the toasted sesame oil over the mixture and top with finely chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve over regular steamed rice or cauliflower rice. Or simply enjoy it from the bowl by itself.

Steps to make Keto Egg Roll in a Bowl


Saute turkey


Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground turkey and cook for 5-6 minutes until the turkey is almost cooked through.


Add onion


Push the ground turkey to one side of the pan to create space. Add 1½ cups of diced onion and the other tablespoon of oil. Saute for 3-4 minutes.


Add remaining vegetables


Add 1 cup of shredded carrots, 3 crushed cloves of garlic and ½ a teaspoon of minced ginger. Saute for 2 minutes before stirring the vegetables and turkey together.


Pour in chicken broth


Pour ¼ cup of chicken broth into the pan and scrape the bottom with a wooden spatula to deglaze it.


Stir in cabbage, coconut aminos or soy sauce and vinegar


Add 5 cups of shredded cabbage, 2 tablespoons of coconut aminos or soy sauce, 2 teaspoons of vinegar and season to taste with salt and pepper.




Stir well and place a lid on the pan. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 12-15 minutes until the cabbage is to your desired tenderness.


Add sesame oil, green onions and sesame seeds


Add toasted sesame oil and sprinkle green onions and toasted sesame seeds on top.



Serve with steamed regular rice or cauliflower rice and enjoy!
