Recipe Description

Inspired by the famous Red Velvet Cake, these Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Muffins have the same delicious taste. These muffins are incredibly soft, buttery, moist, speckled with chocolate chips, and perfect. They are a great treat for Valentine’s Day!   

These muffins are easy to make, but there are a few helpful tips to read before you start. Technique tip: set the eggs and buttermilk out on the counter 30 minutes before you start baking. It will ensure your batter comes together properly. Swap option: if you don’t have buttermilk on hand, add 2 ¼ teaspoon lemon juice or vinegar to your measuring cup and if you don’t have buttermilk on hand, add 2 ¼ teaspoon lemon juice or vinegar to your measuring cup and add enough water to fill to ¾-cup line.
