Create the perfect homemade jam with this Apricot and Orange Blossom Jam recipe.
A tasteful combination of apricots and orange blossom extract bringing flavors together to produce a scrumptious sweet and citrus treat to be enjoyed with buttered toast, on a fresh English scone or even on top of any dessert recipe to bring that extra spoonful of sugar that will complete your dish.
To make Apricot and Orange Blossom Jam, you will need the following ingredients:
In a large bowl, mix the apricots and the sugar to coat all over and then cover and leave to stand overnight. Place a saucer in the freezer to freeze.
Over a medium heat, pour the syrup apricots into a large preserving pan with lemon juice and wait for the remaining sugar bits to dissolve.
Turn up the flame to a high heat and boil for 15 minutes.
Remove the jam from the heat and place a spoonful of jam on the frozen saucer. Once jam has cooled, lightly press your finger into the jam, if it wrinkles then your jam is set. If no wrinkles form, boil again for a further 2-3 minutes and then test again. Repeat until wrinkles form.
Skim the surface of the jam and stir in the orange blossom water and butter, if using. (This helps to remove any remaining residue).
Allow the jam to stand for 15 minutes before spooning portions into the jam jars. (This ensures the fruit doesn’t separate).
Jam jars refrigerate for up to 6 weeks.
Super yummy jam! Made this for breakfast last weekend, and my husband couldn't get enough! The blend of apricots and the orange blossom is just divine. Perfect on toast and really easy to make. Planning to gift some to friends too!
