5 cups Canned whole tomatoes in their juice, from three 14-oz cans
1 cup Water
⅔ cup Heavy cream
1 tbsp Sugar
¼ tsp Crushed red pepper
¼ tsp Celery seed
¼ tsp Dried oregano
Salt to taste
Black pepper freshly ground, to taste
4 slices White bread ¾-inch-thick, crusts trimmed, cut into ¾-inch dice

Add 5 cups tomatoes with their juices, 1 cup water, ⅔ cup heavy cream, 1 tablespoon sugar, ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper, ¼ teaspoon celery seeds, and ¼ teaspoon oregano. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Bring to a boil over high heat, breaking up the tomatoes with a wooden spoon. Once at a boil, reduce the heat to medium and simmer the soup for 10 minutes.
