1 tsp Kosher Salt
½ tsp Thyme dried leaf, crushed

Add lentils, 8 cups of water along with salt pork, cocktail vegetable juice, salt, thyme, freshly ground pepper and bay leaf and bring to a boil.

Cover pot with the lid, reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally for 30-40 minutes or longer until lentils are cooked.
