Looking for a delicious keep-it-simple idea for dinner tonight? Try this easy and tasty Pan Seared Tilapia recipe. Flaky pan-seared fish fillets seasoned with garlic, paprika, basil, salt and pepper, this simple dinner really fits the bill. And it’s all done in 25 minutes or less. 

First, defrost the fish fillets in the fridge overnight and lightly pat them dry with a paper towel before cooking. Season the tilapia on both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and dried basil. Heat some olive oil in a cast iron skillet and sear the fish fillets on both sides until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Remove from the skillet and serve warm with lime wedges for squeezing over the fish. Enjoy!

Season fish fillets

Rub the fish fillets on both sides with ½ teaspoon salt, ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon paprika, and ½ teaspoon dried basil.

Cook fish fillets

In a cast iron skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over high heat for about 3 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium, then add two fillets to the pan. Cook on one side for about 4 minutes, then flip and let cook for another 3-4 minutes. Repeat with the remaining fish fillets and oil.

Serve

Serve warm with rice, a big salad, and some lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the fish if you wish.
