1 can Cannellini drained and rinsed
1 can Butter beans drained and rinsed
1 Red onion finely sliced
½ Lemon juiced
4 tbsp Olive oil
1 bunch Fresh dill small, finely chopped
1 loaf French baguette small, cut into thick slices
2 cloves Garlic peeled
2 Canned tuna drained
3 ½ cups Arugula
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste

This Tuna Salad with Garlic Toasts is fresh and refreshing! Great for quick lunches and dinners, as a snack or full meal. Marinated cannellini and butter beans in a lemon and olive oil dressing tossed with red onions, fresh dill, tuna and rocket leaves. If you’re cutting back on calories then enjoy this salad as is, or follow our steps for some perfect, char-grilled, garlic toasts, to enjoy on the side.

Steps to make Tuna Salad with Garlic Toasts


Marinate beans


In a large bowl, combine 1 can of cannellini beans, 1 can of butter beans, 1 thinly sliced red onion, lemon juice from half a lemon, 4 tablespoons of olive oil and a small bunch of freshly chopped dill. Season with salt and pepper then toss to mix everything together. Set aside for 10 minutes to marinate.


Brush bread slices


Generously brush the bread slices with some olive oil.


Toast bread slices


On a hot griddle, toast the bread until slightly charred.


Rub with garlic cloves


Once toasted, transfer to a plate and rub with peeled garlic cloves for flavor.


Prepare salad


When ready, add 2 cans of drained tuna to the bowl of marinating beans along with arugula leaves. Toss to combine the salad well.



Serve your tuna and bean salad with warm, garlic toasts.
