Peach Marmalade (No Pectin) made easy! I love making my own condiments and accompaniments and so I am always trying and developing new recipes to make items from scratch, instead of store bought, less healthier options.
Sometimes jams, jellies and marmalades contain loads of preservatives and other ingredients that homemade products just cut out! You will love this easy and simple, sweet marmalade recipe.
To make Peach Marmalade, you will need the following ingredients:
Gently drop peaches into a pot of boiling water and boil for 1 minute. Remove peaches from the hot water and run under cold water to cool. Slip off the skins and use a small knife to remove any extra pieces. Cut in half, remove pits and slice or chop into small pieces.
Prepare orange zest and set aside. Peel oranges and cut the inside into small pieces, about the amount of 1 cup.
In a large pot, use a potato mash or your hands and mix the peaches, zest, orange pieces, sugar and lemon juice, together. You may leave some peach chunks.
Bring large pot and marmalade mixture to a boil, over medium-high heat, then lower to medium and boil on medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking at the bottom, for about 15-22 minutes. The amount of time will depend on your choice in texture as well as the speed of the boil and size of the pot.
Adjust flavors to taste. Some prefer more lemon juice or more sugar.
Pour prepared marmalade in washed jars, allow to cool before covering tightly. Store in the fridge.
