4 Portobello mushrooms
8 tbsp Pizza sauce
1 cup Mozzarella
2 tsp Dried Italian seasoning
1 tsp Salt
½ tsp Black pepper
1 tbsp Olive oil
Optional Toppings:
Cherry tomatoes to taste
Artichoke hearts to taste
Red onion to taste

Instead of a traditional pizza dough base, these Portobello Mushroom Pizza are a gluten free option replacing flour with giant mushrooms and it’s absolutely delicious!

Guilt free, gluten free, perfect for meat-free eaters and fewer calories than the usual dinner. This millennial style pizza is a great first course idea to serve for any occasion that you may be hosting!

To make Portobello Mushroom Pizza, you will need the following ingredients:

Steps to make Portobello Mushroom Pizza

Prepare mushrooms

Wash the 4 portobello mushroom caps thoroughly and remove the stems. Leave the centers whole and intact.

Season mushrooms

Place mushrooms on a greased baking sheet and drizzle each with some olive oil. Season with 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon pepper and 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, evenly, over the 4 mushrooms.

Add pizza sauce and cheese

Add about 2 tablespoons pizza sauce on top of each mushroom and about ¼ cup mozzarella cheese on top of each mushroom.

Add toppings

Add the optional toppings to each mushroom as you like.

Broil

Broil on low setting for 10 minutes.

Serve

Serve hot and enjoy!
