You should be able to pick it up at your local Asian grocery store along with sambal oelek, a hot chili paste.
Start by sautéing onion, carrots, celery, and garlic in a large pot or Dutch oven. Add the cabbage, broth, shoyu, vinegar, and sugar. Bring the soup to a boil and simmer until the vegetables are tender. Serve over noodles, garnished with fresh cilantro. Yum!

Another perfect lunch/dinner made by the amazing Nina! Love everything you share with us,thanks for providing us with such quality meals.
Love this vegan cabbage shoyu soup, I've had something similar at a resturant nearby but wasn't quite sure what it was, glad I found it again.
Kids couldn't eat it cause it was too spicy so I ended up eating the leftovers but glad I didn't have to share with this soup, soo yummy.
No need for meat if you have vegan meals like this and desserts like the vegan banana bread lol!
Too spicy for me, doesn't taste bad at all though I had to drink a bunch of milk afterwards like a wussy haha.
Excited to make this again, even going to make some garlic bread with vegan cheese, mm-mm yum~
Vegan dishes for the win! This was one of my favorite cabbage soups I've ever had.
