Buttered Leeks
Supremely tender and flavorful, these Buttered Leeks use just three ingredients and are sure to be loved by all. This dish requires some advance planning, but the glorious results are well worth it.  Â
The day before you plan to serve this dish, trim off the leek roots and tops (save them and use them to make your own homemade vegetable stock). Rinse the prepared leeks thoroughly under cold running water. Thinly slice them on the bias into bite-sized pieces and place them into plastic bags. Chill until you are ready to cook. Melt a few pats of butter in a large pan. Add the leeks and season with salt to taste. Cover and cook gently, stirring halfway through, until the leeks are tender. Enjoy with extra butter and a sprinkle of fresh thyme leaves. Super simple yet so much flavor!Â
