1½ lbs Chicken
2-3 tbsp Seasoning green seasoning
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black pepper
2 tbsp Curry powder , divided
3 tbsp Geera powder divided
3 cloves Garlic minced
1 tbsp Garam masala
½ tsp Ground cloves
½ tsp Cinnamon ground
1 tsp Cayenne pepper powder
1⁄4 cup Water plus a couple tsps
2-3 tbsp Coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil

This Fabulously Flavorful Geera Chicken recipe is one of my personal favorite Indian inspired curry dishes and I am so excited to be able to share it with you! If you love experimenting in the kitchen with all sorts of spices then this recipe will be right up your street! With an array of deliciously smelling flavors from the curry powder mixed with geera powder, otherwise roasted ground cumin, fresh garlic, garam masala, cloves, cinnamon and cayenne, your neighbors will be ringing your bell to try some! 

To make Fabulously Flavorful Geera Chicken, you will need the following ingredients:

Steps to make Fabulously Flavorful Geera Chicken

Season meat

In a large bowl, toss 1½ pounds of chicken or pork cubes with 2-3 tablespoons of green seasoning, and 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper each, 1 tablespoon of curry powder, and 1½ tablespoon of geera powder and generously and evenly coat all the pieces.

Refrigerate

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour to overnight, to marinate the flavors from the spices.

Combine spices

In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of curry powder, 1½ tablespoon of geera powder, ½ teaspoon of ground clove, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper with a few teaspoons of water to form a runny paste.

Cook garlic

In a deep pan over medium heat, heat 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil and add 3 cloves of minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not burning.

Add runny paste

Add the prepared runny paste from the combined spices and cook while continuously stirring until very thick and hardened.

Add chicken

Add the marinated chicken, scraping up the bottom pieces and saute for a few minutes until the chicken is coated in spices.

Add water

Pour in ¼ cup of water and bring pan to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add more water as needed.

Add garam masala

Add 1 tablespoon of garam masala and continue cooking until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has reduced to your preference.

Serve

Serve on a bed of Indian white rice.
