This Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake is a recipe that I learned years ago when I had a roommate from Serbia. He would make this potato and ground beef bake on cold winter days, and I always thought it smelled so good! He taught me how to make it and I still like to assemble this one in the depths of winter!
To make this delicious bake, start by cooking a beef and vegetable sauce. Make the gravy sauce by adding water and red wine to cooked beef and vegetables and stir until heated through. Dissolve a beef bouillon cube into the mixture and mix in the half-and-half. Assemble the bake by layering potatoes at the bottom of a casserole dish. Pour in the beef and vegetable sauce and top with remaining potatoes. Bake in the oven until the potatoes are tender. Yum!
