Sourdough Discard Crackers
I came up with this Sourdough Discard Crackers recipe after posting my Sourdough Starter here recently. I know that a lot of people have started using sourdough starter, and a few of you got in touch though to say that you felt bad discarding half of the starter each day and you didn’t know what to do with the excess! So, I challenge you to try making these crackers.
Start by melting butter and letting it cool down. Add the sourdough discard, dried herbs and salt to the melted butter. Mix thoroughly before spreading the mixture in a thin, even layer on parchment paper. Sprinkle the crackers with salt and bake for about an hour until golden brown and crisp.
To make the Sourdough Discard Crackers, you will need the following ingredients:
Steps to make Sourdough Discard Crackers
Add sourdough discard, salt and herbs
Transfer the mixture to baking sheet
Sprinkle with salt
Leave to cool
These crackers with some minty homemade tea are a perfect summer delight in my opinion.
Healthy, affordable and simple it's exactly what i was looking for.
WHAT?! You can actually make crackers from home??? this is freaking news to me..
Didn't know it was so easy to make crackers guess i'll be making them instead of buying them from now on cause i can make as many as I want for the price of two boxes that last less than a day with my cracker addicted hubby LOL.
Another great snack thanks to you Lilly!
Totally obsessing over these sourdough crackers they were scrumptious.
Delicious goes great with hummus and salad i had it with some grape salad at the gym today :)
Okay so I came here from the sourdough beginner guide and i'm still confused are all the doughs made differently??
My kids and I actually like these crackers a lot as a movie snack cause they taste good with ham and cheese too.
