This easy Strawberry Crumble makes a perfect summertime treat. Jammy strawberries are topped with an aromatic buttery layer of brown sugar oat crumbs that are as crisp as cookies. Serve with a large serving spoon, dipping down to get both topping and strawberry filling with each spoonful. This is my favorite way to eat strawberries right now!
This delicious crumble bakes quickly, which is a bonus on hot days. To start, toss the strawberries with cornstarch, sugar, and orange juice. Pour the mixture into a baking dish. Now, make the topping. It comes together quickly with minimal effort, using just pantry staples. Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Pour the melted butter over and stir with a fork until the mixture forms thick crumbs. Sprinkle the topping over the berries and bake until golden brown and bubbling. It’s best to serve the whole thing fresh from the oven with a scoop of ice cream.
To make the Strawberry Crumble, you will need the following ingredients:
Preheat the oven to 350 °F.
When ripe strawberries are as plentiful as they are now, I use them to make this Strawberry Crumble. It calls for 2 pounds of fresh strawberries, which are then tossed with cornstarch, orange juice and sugar. Top with a buttery brown sugar oat crumble and bake until bubbling.
