Triple Chocolate Scones Supreme

Are you ready to be wowed by my Triple Chocolate Scones recipe? These scones are rich and indulgent. Super chocolatey and gooey like brownies. If you love chocolate, then you will adore these sweet and tasty treats!

Start by making the dough by mixing wet ingredients with dry ingredients. You will get a sticky dough which can be challenging to work with. If your dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. If it seems too dry, add 1-2 tablespoons of heavy cream. Cut into scones and refrigerate before baking. Make a glaze from confectioners’ sugar, vanilla and lemon juice or coffee and dunk the scones in the glaze once cooked. Drizzle melted chocolate over the top and enjoy!

To make Triple Chocolate Scones, you will need the following ingredients:

Steps to make Triple Chocolate Scones Supreme

1

Mix dry ingredients

1

Place 1⅔ cups of all-purpose flour, ⅓ cup of cocoa powder, ½ a cup of granulated sugar, 2½ teaspoons of baking powder and ½ a teaspoon each of ground cinnamon and salt in a large bowl.

2

Add butter

2

Use a box grater to grate ½ a cup of frozen butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix it with the dry ingredients until it comes together to make pea-sized crumbs. Place in the refrigerator while you mix the wet ingredients together.

3

Mix wet ingredients

1

Whisk ½ a cup and 1 tablespoon of heavy cream, 1 large egg and 1½ teaspoons of pure vanilla extract together in a small bowl.

4

Mix wet and dry ingredients and add chocolate

1

Pour the cream mixture over the flour mixture and add 4 ounces of chopped chocolate. Mix together until there are no visible dry ingredients.

5

Shape into a ball

1

Transfer the dough to a work surface and using floured hands, work the dough into a ball as best you can.

6

Cut into scones

1

Press the dough ball into an 8-inch disc and cut into 8 wedges using a knife.

7

Chill

15

Place scones 2-3 inches apart on a lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.

8

Heat oven

Preheat the oven to 400 °F.

9

Bake

25

Bake the chilled scones in the oven for 22-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

10

Cool

10

Remove the cookies from the oven and leave them to cool while preparing the glaze.

11

Make glaze

1

Place 1/2 cup of confectioners’ sugar, 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a bowl and whisk together. Dip warm scones into the glaze and place each one on a wire rack. Place a baking sheet underneath to catch the glaze as it drips off the scones.

12

Drizzle melted chocolate over the scones

2

Melt 4 ounces of chocolate in the microwave and drizzle the melted chocolate over each scone.

13

Serve

Serve with a mug of your favorite tea.

Careful with the vanilla extra a little goes a long way if you put too much it'll turn out tasting like chemicals which no one wants.

Nancy Sheely

For sure would add a bit more cinnamon atleast 1tsp.

Can't say I'm a huge fan I didn't find this to be sweet at all..It needs more sugar or a different glaze.

Extra deliciou but no need to make glaze with lemon you can just mix powdered sugar with milk and have a very sweet glaze for this.
