These Apple Spider Web Pops look so cool for Halloween. The contrasting chocolate decorations really make them look like spider webs. My kids love to help make these and then love to eat them of course! I’m sure yours will too!
These pops are really easy to make, but they look very impressive like you spent hours working on them! Start by slicing up apples. Melt dark chocolate and white chocolate with coconut oil and dip half the apple slices in each. Leave the chocolate to harden slightly for about 15 minutes before piping circles onto each one in contrasting chocolate colors. Use a toothpick to create the web decoration.
To make Apple Spider Web Pops, you will need the following ingredients:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicon baking mat.
Cut the apples lengthwise (stem to bottom) into 4 thick slices each. Remove any visible seeds and keep the core intact. The end slices will be rounded; cut a thin slice off so they lay flat.
Use a wooden ice pop stick to create a small hole in the bottom of each apple slice. Push the stick about halfway into the apple.
Place 4 ounces of bittersweet chocolate in a medium microwave-safe bowl with 1 teaspoon of the coconut oil. Microwave at 50 percent power for 30-second increments, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
Place 4 ounces of white chocolate and the remaining 1 teaspoon coconut oil in a separate microwave-safe bowl and follow the same method to melt the white chocolate.
Dunk half of the apple slices completely into the bowl with the melted bittersweet chocolate. Let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Place the dipped apple slices on the prepared baking sheet. Dunk the remaining half of the apple slices into the melted white chocolate and leave the excess drip off before placing them on the baking sheet.
Let the coated apples rest at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes until the chocolate thickens.
Place any leftover dark and white chocolate in 2 separate small resealable plastic bags. Snip a small corner off each bag to create piping bags. Using the dark chocolate, pipe 3-4 concentric circles on the white chocolate coated apples and vice versa. Starting in the center, drag a toothpick through the circles to create a spider web design.
Place in the refrigerator to harden for 15-20 minutes before serving.
These Apple Spider Web Pops are a great Halloween treat for kids. Try them this spooky season and remember to tag #cookmerecipes if you post pics on instagram!
