Best Rum Cake

If you are looking for a boozy dessert, look no further than our Best Rum Cake. The fairly simple recipe for this winter dessert, built around the yellow cake mix, has rum in the batter and will impress just about anyone. It is cozy and comforting and pairs perfectly with cold weather and good company.

The recipe is hard to mess up and needs just one bowl to make the batter. To start, grease and flour a bundt pan. To the bottom of the pan, add the chopped walnuts, distributing them evenly. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. Then add in the wet ingredients and mix until well combined. Pour the batter into the bundt pan and bake for 1 hour, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire cooling rack. In the meantime, make the rum glaze. Using a toothpick, poke holes all over the top and sides of the cake, then brush the cake with the rum glaze. Repeat until all the glaze is used.
