1 tbsp Red onion very finely minced

¼ cup Sour cream

½ tsp Dill dried
4 wedges of Lemon for garnish

In this Baked Salmon Steaks with Sour Cream and Dill recipe, I have given you the secret to baking the perfect fish fillets with a cooking time of 20 minutes in a preheated oven at 350 °F.

Baste salmon with a combination of sour cream, dill, red onion, lemon zest and black pepper, and return to the oven for a final few minutes bake, serving you my personal favorite salmon variation.

Steps to make Baked Salmon Steaks with Sour Cream and Dill

    Preheat oven and prepare baking dish

    Preheat oven to 350 °F and grease a baking dish with butter.

    Combine lemon juice and onion

    In a small mixing bowl, combine lemon juice and minced red onion.

    Season salmon

    Place salmon in prepared baking dish and drizzle lemon juice mix over each salmon piece. Season with salt and ground black pepper.

    Bake salmon, uncovered, in the preheated oven, for about 20 minutes (15 minutes for fillets), until fish flakes easily with a fork or a thermometer reads a minimum 145 °F.

    Baste salmon

    Remove from oven and pour sour cream, evenly, over the baked salmon. Garnish with lemon zest and dill.

    Return salmon to the oven at 350 °F and bake for another 3 minutes.
