To make this recipe, cut the Bartlett pears in half, core, and arrange in a baking dish. Place some butter in the center of each pear half and drizzle with honey or agave syrup. Bake until tender. Meanwhile, make the mascarpone-cream filling by whipping the heavy whipping cream and blending it with mascarpone. Add a hint of vanilla flavor by mixing in some pure vanilla extract. Once the pears are baked, serve them on a serving plate topped with mascarpone-cream filling and sprinkled with chopped pistachios and pumpkin pie spice. Arrange the pears in a baking dish cut-side up.

Make mascarpone-cream filling

In a bowl, using a hand mixer, whip 8 ounces heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. Add in 8 ounces mascarpone cheese and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Using a wooden spoon, mix through until smooth.

Transfer the baked pears from the baking dish to a plate and spoon 1-2 tablespoons of the mascarpone-cream filling in the center of each half. Top evenly with chopped pistachios and sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice.
